What is firstly ridiculed then violently opposed, before being accepted as self-evident?
The Saga of the Lion's Gate continues...
I’m not an astrologer. I’m not even a student of astrology - but I am impacted by cosmic energies in a very physical way. They manifest as pain in my body, exhaustion, heat; and my moods are often affected too - sometimes euphoria, sometimes melancholy, and a spectrum in between.
When I feel off kilter and have no logical reasoning for it I look to my relationships first - am I picking up emotional pain from someone else? A loved one? A client? The collective? If so, I clear it, disconnect myself from it as best I can and the symptoms, the expression of the energy, lessens significantly and I come back to myself. I would be a wreck without doing my energy work. But if, even after I do all my energy work, I still feel the same way, I have to put it down to the cosmic energies.
So I go to look at what is going on astrologically. Then, more often than not the feelings fit, makes sense, click in with me. Astrology is a psychic weather report. I know to get an umbrella and a raincoat and gear myself to ride the waves of the storm. My umbrella and raincoat, at times, came in the form of carbohydrates, sugar and alcohol. But now, when I eat a spice bag, the next day I am a wreck. As I age, my body is no longer willing to play that game with me. It is a truth that I violently opposed for a while, and then had to surrender to, because I prefer to not be in pain. Do the maths, my body says to me. I say back, I am crap at maths. I am currently learning what other forms of protection I can use to weather the psychic storms. When I figure it out I will let you know!
What has all this got to do with the Lion’s Gate? Well, accepting truth is a process, and I am watching it unfold. The New Age community relishes the sensationalism of The Lions Gate. Sensationalism gets views, and, lions are cool. Two years ago, an astrologer I admire spoke out about The Lions Gate being misrepresented, not fixed to the 8th of August. But the 8th of the 8th is a cool date - numerology, you know? It’s a good day for workshops and making some money and getting more follows - portals and cosmic energy are fun and exciting and gets the likes and shares. But I respected this astrologer and truth is important to me, so I listened to him. I said to him in jest - we are so powerful we can make a portal where there isn’t one. So even if the Lions Gate isn’t a true thing on the 8th of the 8th, we make it so by our collective intention.
I admit that I said what I said to him in jest. First the truth is ridiculed. Stage one. Yet, there is some truth in what I said. But that leads me to the question - if we can make a portal anytime we want to, a window for manifestation and power, why don’t we do it before breakfast every day?
Because they don’t want us to think that we can. So we don’t think that we can!
This year my astrologer friend wrote a long, technical and comprehensive article about why The Lions Gate is not on the 8th of the 8th, what it actually is, and how it has affected the world over time. It’s very good - you can read it here if you are interested. What I find interesting is that it has taken a few years to bring this discussion to a wider number of people. I am seeing it in several places now. Truth and violent opposition - some people clinging on for dear life to the idea that the Lions Gate needs to be a real thing on a real day. Do they shout louder because they know they have been caught out?
In the past two years I have, as the New Agers say, upgraded, and I understand more of our true power. I’ve started to play with it in my own life and I’ve never been as happy. Except of course, that I now have to consider giving up sugar and alcohol as well as carbs...
Lions still are cool, though. It’s Leo season, I can share images of cosmic lions if I want to.
It seems the world is in stage two of the quest for truth with the Lions Gate right now. In general, people hate to put their hands up and admit to being wrong. But we can have workshops for empowerment and manifestation at any time that works for us - even on the 8th of the 8th - how empowering! If we are going to do this right, however, then at least say we are doing it because we want to do it at this time, in this way. Personally I like the 8th of the 8th, but I also like the 7th of the 7th. My favourite is the 11th of the 11th… at 11am! However, as far as the calendar goes - is it the true calendar? Are the dates and months the right ones? There are arguments for and against that, too. I feel we need 13 shorter months in a year, not 12, and why is October the 10th month and not the 8th?
Here is what we know - nothing. We know nothing.
We are all Jon Snow whether we like it or not. Because we don’t know for certain what the planets actually are. They could be droplets of water with a frequency that move in cycles and patterns in the firmament above, instead of big balls of gas and rock that we can stand on or travel to. Are we living in a solar system that spins, or on a flat earth in a firmament, or are we holograms in a toroidal field? Are we precariously dangling inside a marble hanging on a cosmic cat’s collar? (Or indeed, on the back of a turtle which is standing on the backs of giant elephants?) I am open to the possibility that the pattern on the side of the moon that faces us is a map of our territory reflected back to us. I’m not clinging to any idea. I can hold two or more possible truths in opposition, as a mature adult, and not be attached to any of them. Can you?
It brings me great peace to not be attached to anyone’s version of the truth. I can hand it all to the gods, or to God or indeed, to GOD. Whoever He may be…
The question of the Lions Gate, continues.
But in the meantime, I went looking for a distraction. I opened up my Facebook to turn the page, to change the conversation, and I see this post from Doreen Virtue Wow. What a post. Liked by over 24 thousand people, shared by 10 thousand. I’d love my posts to get that much coverage, must be the Leo in me. Why are the powers that be not shadow-banning her? I wonder…
What is strange, is that I’ve never seen a post from her in my feed before. On my quest for truth, deciding how powerful we are, she shows up saying Reiki is satanic. That we don’t need energy work. That we need the cross.
I’m not a Christian. I don’t need any cross, and I certainly do need the energy work - I said as much in the opening of this article. But if you were to try to convince anyone that liked this post otherwise, you would be walking into a lion’s den, whatever about a lion’s gate.
What I need more than any of this, is to walk away from social media for a while.
I am the portal.
I hope you got something useful from this article. I’ve written about Doreen Virtue before, and am willing to do so again in the future. Do share your thoughts in the comments, I’m listening.

LOL. Those nasty harpies had my Facebook and substack accounts locked because I was influential many years and they could not win arguments with me. Nasty.
Thank you Abby. Listened to a podcast yesterday and similar information revealed. “New Agers” have not retired. Like the energy clearing as too much chatter that seems deliberate to confuse, or distract whatever. Spending many hours in the garden for grounding and being with nature.
