Have people forgotten how to listen?
and why we have to give ourselves permission to react first, and then respond.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve written a Substack. I’ve been traveling, I’ve been thinking, and more importantly, I’ve been finishing the courseware for my Life Mastery Practitioner School. We’re hoping to be ready for a new cohort of students this October, opening applications in July. I’m seeding the consciousness with possibility that maybe, just maybe, you might like to come and join us and become a Life Mastery Therapist.
It has been a blessing to be able to take a couple of weeks and just rest. I think when we rest, a lot of unhealed pain and emotion can come up to be released, and the impact of stress on the body can be seen at its actual levels. I’ve been talking to some friends about this and made a video about how we’re human and how we do react, even though we’ve been conditioned to respond, not react. We have to give ourselves space to process what does come up, especially when what’s coming up at the present time is so intense. I think it’s okay to react as long as we can give ourselves a time out in order to organize our feelings and thoughts and process how we are feeling and holding something, whatever that might be. It’s usually our expectations of a situation or of a person or of a relationship, and we’re usually the ones that are disappointed that we set our expectations way too high. Anyway, I’ll post the video here if it calls you, and do let me know in the comments what you think.
Before I went away, I made a video with my co-facilitator Lyn, who’s becoming a very good friend of mine. We talk about compassionate listening, which is a core process in life mastery therapy. I think this is important for everybody to understand: why people are in such a rush. People are protecting themselves, I suppose, from reacting to a situation that might hurt them. Therefore, they don’t really listen to the other person, and they don’t really listen to themselves either. Whatever we have buried, we want to stay buried, but what we want and what we need are never the same thing. The energies are conspiring for us to be our most authentic selves. We must face ourselves first, and know ourselves, and that turns into one of the greatest strengths that we can have.
I’m sharing the video I made with Lyn here as well: thus this Substack is now a compendium of sharing for you.
Are you acting as your own authentic self?
Or are you just going through life making pre-choreographed movements?
We’re breaking out of our shells now. Everybody doing it at the same time is overwhelming, so I’ll share one more thing with you here before I go. It’s so important to clear your energy. We are designed to be able to cope and manage our own emotions, but not everybody else’s as well as our own. When is the last time you cleared your energy field? Hopefully this sound cloud will help you do just that.
Until the next time, xxAbby

It's a bummer, but I won't complete the new 'sign in to show i am not a bot' challenge on Youtube.
Good luck.
